Successfully Facilitating A Quantitative and Qualitative Survey for a Large Management Consulting Firm

The Challenge

A top-tier management consulting firm needed to execute a complex survey to establish the usage incidence of a certain customer management system software platform among small business decision makers.

What We Did

ROI conducted parallel surveys – one using a broad, general population panel to validate the publicly available data on small business firmographics in the US market and a second using our validated business decision maker panel to generate the competitive market data for the software in question. 

Following the quantitative survey, the consulting team’s client switched direction and required a full work stream of qualitative in-depth interviews. ROI recruited twenty-five of its business decision makers from the quantitative survey over a two week period.

Result

Our client was able to support its client’s changing data demands, with both a complex quantitative survey and the in-depth interviews that supported the original findings.

Tracking COVID-19’s Impact on Public Opinion of the U.S. Economy

The Challenge

When the COVID-19 pandemic started, there was a lot of uncertainty about how it would impact the US economy, so we surveyed public opinion on the economy as the first wave of the pandemic unfolded.

What We Did

ROI Rocket funded and executed  several research projects throughout the first four months of the global pandemic – each time testing over 1,000 U.S. residents aged 18 and older with a 95% confidence level and +/- 3.1% margin of error in the most conservative case.

Result

In April of 2020, a majority of Americans welcomed a federal stimulus package (56%) but felt increasingly pessimistic about the economy (75%). In May of 2020, a majority of Americans were divided on re-opening the economy across party lines. In July of 2020, a majority of Americans supported re-imposing previously mandated countermeasures (63%), believing that re-opening the economy was happening too fast. These studies helped track public opinion  during a volatile period of time at the beginning of the global pandemic.

Running A Logo Redesign Research Survey For A Recognized Mobile Network Operator

The Challenge

A recognized mobile network operator was considering a brand logo redesign and commissioned ROI Rocket to run a research survey to test four alternative logos.

What We Did

ROI Rocket surveyed a mix of 50% existing customers and 50% non-customers, testing their respective preferences between the current logo and four alternative designs.

Result

ROI found that the existing logo registered more positive impressions than any of the alternative designs throughout the test group by a wide margin. We recommended that our client should retain their current logo for the short term and expand on positive dimensions like brand familiarity, trust, and reliability in any future logo redesign.
